2003 CENDSS Workshop on Networked Sensors and Decision Support Systems Initial Planning Meeting, DSTO, Adelaide , Australia November 2003
The initial ARC Research Network brainstorming meeting was held in Salisbury, hosted by the DSTO and attended by researchers from the University of Melbourne, University of Adelaide and the DSTO, where the areas of expertise relating to the key research themes of the network were identified.
Inaugural International Conference on Intelligent Sensing and Information Processing (ICISIP), Chennai , India January 2004
The conference was organized by key Network participants and was the venue for the second Research Network meeting. Presentations on Network related issues were made by key figures from participating international institutions.
This included: Vittal S.Rao, Rutledge-Emerson Distinguished Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Missouri-Rolla & Program Director for Control, Networks, and Computational Intelligence, National Science Foundation

Discussions were held with local and visiting international researchers on future project collaborations, possible through the operation of the Network.

This meeting of Research Network participants and potential partners, from around the country, was held to discuss the status of the Network application and discuss opportunities to strengthen the Network through amalgamation with other related successful Seed Funding applicants, in a way that would complement the existing research themes and enhance potential interdisciplinary collaborations.
