Call for Papers

The deadline for submission of papers has now passed. Successful authors have been notified.

  • Broadband delivery and evolution
  • Wireless sensor networks research and applications

The ATNAC 2006 Organising Committee is seeking both academic and industry papers that advance research in the key themes or report on the development and implementation of these technologies in Australia and around the world.

Scope of Conference

ATNAC 2006 will gather researchers and engineers from academia and industry to share their results and exchange ideas. ATNAC 2006 seeks papers that describe original research or provides new information in the areas listed below:

Broadband access technologies Network security
Broadband network design and optimisation OFDM wireless systems
Broadband wireless systems Optical networks
Capacity planning Optical Switching

Control of distributed networks Peer-to-peer communications
Data communication and networking Photonics and microelectronics
Distributed database systems Real-time and embedded systems
Fibre optic communication RFID and sensor networks

Information theory Rural and remote communications
Internet technology and applications Signal processing
MIMO antenna systems Web applications and evolution
Mobile telephony networks and applications Web services and performance

Papers in areas not listed above will be considered by the Technical Program Committee and accepted based on their merit.

Submission

Full papers should be submitted describing original research, new ideas, promising approaches, applications, systems, practices and experiences. The material must be unpublished and not under submission elsewhere. All papers will be peer-reviewed and should be written in English and submitted electronically through our submission web page in PDF format, printable as A4 documents to a maximum of five (5) pages, including figures and appendices.

Important Dates

  • Paper submission deadline: 18 August 2006 - NOTE: 1 week extension
  • Notification of Acceptance: 22 September 2006
  • Final version of papers due: 20 October 2006
  • Early-bird registrations deadline: 27 October 2006
  • Conference registrations deadline: 17 November 2006
  • ATNAC Welcome reception and registration: 3 December 2006
  • ATNAC 2006: 4-6 December 2006

Full papers are required for review. All paper submissions will be carefully reviewed by at least three experts. Reviews will be returned to the author(s) with comments to ensure the high quality of the accepted papers. The authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their paper will be presented at the conference. At least one author of each accepted paper must be registered for the conference in order for that paper to appear in the proceedings and to be scheduled for presentation.

Papers should be formatted in accordance with the IEEE standard. Use the sample manuscript as a visual aid in formatting.

Papers submitted to the Australian Telecommunication Networks and
Applications Conference for 2006 were peer reviewed:
(i)   in their entirety, not merely an the basis of an abstract or extract;
(ii)  before publication; and
(iii) by appropriately independent, qualified experts.
