Use of calculators in examinations

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department is concerned about the possible misuse in examinations of calculators with large memory and alphanumeric display.

The Department does not wish to disadvantage any student by prohibiting the use of certain calculators. However, it is necessary to clearly state the rules for the legitimate fair use of all calculators in examinations in the interests of all students.

The following rule will apply to the use of calculators in all examinations being conducted for subjects taught within the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Only non-programmable calculators may be used in examinations.
