It is recognized that software applications can act as useful and important educational tools, and software products are being deployed at all schooling levels.
MotionWorkshop will enable secondary and tertiary physics students to analyse QuickTime video clips of moving objects. Students will be able to set up numerical spreadsheet models, plot graphs and manipulate vectors in order to simulate and understand the physics of the displayed motion.
There are currently a number of products which have functionality similar to that of MotionWorkshop, however, the are lacking in one or more areas that MotionWorkshop aims to address.
MotionWorkshop will meet the standards expected of released software: minimal bugs; excellent and highly intuitive user interface conforming to usability standards; and adequate functionality to be used in undergraduate physics courses. |
