As business organisations expand, so must the systems in place to manage them. The ESCORT system being developed by Team Bullet is one such measure aiming to provide an extensive administration and task tracking framework for better management of ESCS’ (Eastern Suburbs Computer Solutions) growing employee and customer base.
The existing management system is an unrelated series of tools that have little or no means of interacting other than through direct human involvement, and therefore the system is very labour intensive. The existing system involves data exchange between Microsoft Outlook, MYOB (accounting software), Motorola A1000 phones as well as the inventory supplier (Computer World) web-site, all coordinated by manual human administration.
he ESCORT system aims to organise data storage into a single system such that information may be seamlessly exchanged between the aforementioned components and duplicated records are avoided. Computer World information will be accessed and processed by the ESCORT system along with other product and financial data, culminating in accounting information that will then be directly interfaced with MYOB. Task tracking functionality will also provide ESCS with a means of coordinating employee movements and maximising their productivity. The ESCORT system will interface with employee mobile phones to ensure mobile delivery of up to date task and customer information. In addition, UltraVNC driven connections will allow for ESC employees to remotely take control of customer computers over the internet to provide online technical support services. This increased level of functionality and automation provides ESCS with a system that is not only easier to use, but also more powerful in its ability to accommodate additional software driven management and service utilities.
