    The Endeavour Exhibition is a showcase of projects undertaken by Electrical Engineering students in the final year of their studies. On display will be forty-five projects which integrate a vast number of different fields including photonics, biomedical engineering, signal processing, communications and electronics. 

    Endeavour 2007 marks the 10th anniversary of the Exhibition and presents an opportunity to view creative and innovative projects and meet with some of the brightest students in Australia.

    Open to the public -11:00am to 4:30pm
    Excellence Awards - 6:30pm to 10:00pm

    Last year, approximately $275 million of funding commencing in 2006 was awarded to academics by the Australian Research Council (ARC) under the Discovery Projects scheme.  Determining which of the 3,742 applications to fund and to what level is an important and challenging task.  This talk will explain the current process used by the ARC and draw attention to the challenges therein.  Suggestions from the audience for enhancements to the process are welcome.

  • 31 Jul 2006 » Nikola Tesla 150th Anniversary Conference
    Nikola Tesla (1856 - 1943) was a pioneering electrical engineer and inventor, an American scientist with serbian origin Tesla is famous as the creator of the rotating magnetic field and of the complete system of production and distribution of electrical energy (motor generators) based on the use of alternate currents.
     
    In celebration of Nikola Tesla's 150th Anniversary the department will be hosting a Tesla Conference on Monday 31st July. A call for papers will encourage participants to present papers that discuss the advances in electrical engineering in the last century and more specifically how technology today has stemmed from Tesla's creations. If you wish to submit a paper please email the conference chairman Dr Darko Musicki at d.musicki@ee.unimelb.edu.au

    The conference will be held at the Parkville Campus of The University of Melbourne in Wilson Hall.  A light lunch will be provided. To register to attend this event please email Loris Muir at l.muir@ee.unimelb.edu.au.
