Dr Abdullah Al Amin

Dr Abdullah Al Amin is a Research Fellow in Photonic Devices and Systems in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Melbourne.
Dr Al Amin received the BE, ME and PhD in electronic engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1999, 2001, and 2005, respectively. Prior to joining UoM, he was an Associate Research Engineer at KDDI R&D Labs in Japan between 2007-2009, where he was engaged in optical networking technologies and high-spectral efficiency optical fiber transmission. From 2005 to 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), University of Tokyo, where he was responsible for developing an optical-router prototype as part of NEDO-funded Photonic Network Project. He joined the University of Melbourne in 2010.
