Research Strengths

Telecommunications

Electrical & Electronic Engineering has major strengths in telecommunications, networks and systems. It is involved in the design of large telecommunications and computer-communications networks, and in the development of photonic technologies underpinning modern telecommunications networks and systems.

Signals & Systems

Signals and Systems Laboratory (SSL)  at the Melbourne School of Engineering facilitates research, industrial collaboration, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the areas of control engineering, signal processing, optimization and its application in diverse areas including the defense, irrigation, mining and industries..

Neuroengineering

Neuroengineering is about using scientific methods to understand and model the nervous system, and to use this knowledge to engineer systems that interact with, augment, or mimic nervous system functionality. Neuroengineering is closely related to the fields of experimental and computational neuroscience.
