1.2 Notification of an Emergency
In the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Buildings, notification of an emergency is normally by sounding of the fire alarm (bell) followed by sirens and digital voice recording via the emergency warning intercom system (EWIS). Our response to these warnings is always to evacuate the building immediately. The Department occupies building 193 on the main campus, part of level two of building 163 (Walter Boas), part of level three of building 379 (SEECS) at 207 Bouverie Street and building 261 (Boydex) at 203 Bouverie Street.
Electrical and Electronic Engineering Building 193
Building occupants should proceed to the Assembly Area to the west of the building, (
The South Lawn) and remain there until given clearance to re-enter the building by one of the floor wardens.
The Emergency Control Point is at the fire panel in the foyer of the level one north entrance. This is where the building emergency controller is stationed, and where the fire brigade will enter the building.
Walter Boas Building 163
Building occupants should follow the exit signs and proceed to the Assembly Area to the east of the building (Chemical Engineering Lawn) and remain there until given clearance to re-enter the building by one of the floor wardens.
School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) Building 379
Building occupants should proceed to the Assembly Area across the road to the east of the building, (Lincoln Square Gardens) and remain there until given clearance to re-enter the building by one of the floor wardens.
The Emergency Control Point is at the fire panel in the foyer of the level one Bouverie Street entrance. This is where the building emergency controller is stationed, and where the fire brigade will enter the building.
